First Blog EVER!

Okay, so I am totally and utterly behind when it comes to "blogging". I am as Luke would say, a "gadget geek" and a "computer guru", so it is quite surprising that I haven't gotten into this sooner... I love any gadget, anything electronic, anything having to do with computers.

That being said - let it all BEGIN!

Luke, the kids & I went "camping" last weekend - gotta make sure it has the quotes. Let me explain... We brought our camper trailer to the lake at about 9:00 PM on Friday, went to bed, woke up, ate breakfast & spent the remainder of the day boating away from our camp on another shore because it was too shallow where we were camping. About 11 hours in the sun & quite the sunburn later, we picked up the truck & trailer and went home. We had a lot of fun, don't get me wrong, but I don't think one can technically call that camping!

I got the worst sunburn on my shoulders, face & feet. Hannah had a little sunburn but somehow Wesley ended up with no sunburn at all. My pasty boy with no sunburn? I talked to Luke afterward and found out he had sunscreened him right before I sunscreened him, so he ended up with double doses of sunscreen! Better safe than sorry, I guess.

~Talk about a busy week~
I just got called to be the Young Men/Young Women Music Director in our ward. Sounds pretty relaxed, right? Well, it turns out I am pretty much a member of the Young Women's Presidency. I attend all of the presidency meetings, Young Women's on Sunday, activities on Tuesday nights & Girls Camp as well as plan anything musical. I really wanted to be in Young Women's, and I love music so I guess this is the perfect calling for me. It should be a lot of fun (and a lot of work). I attended my first activity night this last Tuesday as a leader - a 3 hour activity - the girls went to the Stake Center and worked on camp certifications.

A lot of the younger women in our ward try to get together once a month and do a "Girl's Night Out". That's where I went Wednesday night - after 3 hours I was finally home. Are you starting to see a pattern here? Luke was kind enough to stay home with the kids. Well, not home as in the house, but outside working on projects. Poor guys got eaten by mosquitoes.

I am playing city league softball this year. I pitched up until last night. I got so worried, I got a stomach cramp & asked this other girl to pitch. I haven't gotten the chance to practice & I haven't pitched since I played Young Women's Softball 10 years ago! Needless to say, hopefully I will get a chance to practice before next week. I had a couple good hits & only got out once. Luke bought me a bat and that has really helped to have a decent bat to hit with.

I had to give 3 girls rides to the game, which was fine. One of the girls however, seemed to think that she could tell me how to drive (backseat driver! - Oh and did I say she's 8 years younger than me?). I never met the girl until the game before. Then she proceeded to dis my "victory dance" when I made it to first base without getting out. Let's just say next time she needs a ride, I don't think I'll have room!

To end on a happier note, hopefully we will be going to the lake this weekend - get some good skiing, air chair, wakeboarding, whatever our hearts desire. Summer is the best part of the whole year!
